Chapter 8 {The Consequence Of Her Action}

  • The next day, Diana woke up screaming out of a dream. She looked around to find out that she was the only one in the room, and she let out a sigh of relief. The dream had felt more real than any experience she had ever had. She could still hear and feel the sharp, ripping-metal explosion, the violent heave that had tossed her furiously out of bed, and the searing wave of heat.
  • She sat up and stared at the quiet room and the bright sunlight coming in through the window. "Pinko?" she croaked, looking towards the window.
  • Pinko watched her from the window, the bright light shining in. "You are finally awake," he stated as he floated over to her.
  • Diana cleared her throat, her head still reeling from the nightmare. "How long have you been here?"
  • Pinko laughed softly. "I have always been here; you were just unable to see me."
  • Diana blinked her eyes multiple times. "And why is that?"
  • "Because I made it so," it divulged. "I can see that you're doing well. Nice one."
  • "Thank you," Diana responded faintly and let out a yawn, which she quickly covered with her hand. "Where are the other two maids?"
  • "They left immediately the sun came up." It explained. "Which you should also be doing."
  • "Oh my God!" She exclaimed and sprang up from the soft blanket. "What time is it?"
  • Pinko stared at her and snickered. "The time of day when the sun appear in the eastern horizon." It mumbled sarcastically.
  • Diana stared at her system in confusion before rushing out of the room. She quickly wore her shoes and hurried towards the lane that led to a river. Pina showed it to her during her tour of the maids quarter.
  • She arrived there to the sounds of playful laughter, guess she was not the only one who wanted to take her bath this early. She bowed her head in greetings before entering inside the water, she submerged herself deep inside the water washing away the dirt from her body.
  • "Did you hear? The princess is going out today?" a maid gossiped as she scrubbed her clothes on the riverbank.
  • "Wow... Finally, after like three months she finally decided to step out," the fat maid beside her said with a chuckle.
  • "Do you know the maid she is taking?" The third maid asked.
  • "No." The other two answered in unison.
  • "What do you think she is going out to do?" The third maid asked curiously.
  • "You should mind the maid you talk Cira, there are eyes everywhere." The fat maid warned looking around.
  • "What? I did not say anything bad,i only asked a question." Cira mumbled quietly.
  • "Question or not don't say i did not tell you." She stated. "Right Lily?" She question looking at the maid beside her who just kept quiet watching them.
  • "Don't involve me." Lily fretted. "I need to go." She said and left the water.
  • "You see yourself." Cira said and got up following behind Lily. "Wait for me." She yelled.
  • The fat maid stared at the maid remaining in the water with her. "What did i do,Sonia?" She asked worriedly.
  • Sonia shrugged her shoulder and stood up from the water following them. "What are you waiting for Gina?" She called.
  • "Coming." Gina yelled and quickly got out from the water.
  • Diana who has been under the water since, resurface with a deep breath. "They are lucky i was a good swimmer in my past life" She gasped out.
  • "So since three month the princess haven't left the palace. I wonder why. " She muttered and got out of the water.
  • She made her way back to her room.
  • "Welcome back." Pinko greeted immediately she entered.
  • "You are still here?" She asked and walked over to the standing mirror.
  • "I guess you don't need me." The system said and began to disappear .
  • "Wait." She called, a brush in hand.
  • Pinko asked, only it head was remaining."What do you need?" And turned to Diana who was busy brushing her long shinning black hair before putting beads on them.
  • If someone was watching her, they would think that she has been doing this all her life.
  • "What was with that strange dream i had." She demanded and went over to where she folded her maid gown.
  • "Oh.... You mean that dream." Pinko uttered. "That dream was about your past death."
  • Diana scoffed. "I know it was about my past death. But why do i have it?" She asked as she wore her gown.
  • "You had it because the higher ups deem it so." It stated matter of fact.
  • Diana stopped what she was doing and turned to it. "What do you mean?"
  • Pinko sneered. "Do you think you would be given a second life without any repercussion, especially after everything you had done in your previous life." It hollered and disappear .
  • Diana stared at the space Pinko was in shock, though she suspected her second chance at life wasn't going to be that easy, after all she had harmed a lot of people in her previous life all because she was rich. But what she did not know was how high a price it would be.
  • "Nothing really comes easy.* She thought sadly and wiped the tears from her eyes, though she was just learning that now.
  • *If all it takes is to watch my death over and over again and then wake up in pains just to make amends for my past life, i will happily do so." She articulated and grabbed her small sack of coins before leaving the room.
  • She inhaled sharply and turned heading to the other side of the palace, the pink rose held firmly in her hands.
  • The other side of the palace also known as the petals garden was where the kingdom horses and chariot was kept ,it was also a place where the king kept his prisoner and in other to keep people from entering there,he placed his most trusted and loyal guards there to protect the place and to prevent anyone from entering it. And in between all that stood the most beautiful tree in all of Tarius kingdom.
  • It is said that whatever you wish under the tree must surely come to past, and some went ahead to say that the king before he became a king wish under the tree and that was how he was made the King of Tarius.
  • As she approached the imposing guards, Diana couldn't help but feel a pang of nervousness. The guards were known for their strict vigilance and dedication to their duty, making the path to the prized Petals Garden seem all the more daunting.
